Are you tired of not knowing the Bible, even though you go to church every Sunday? Are you tired of having a feeling that you are missing out on something in life; you don't know your purpose or you are not able to fulfill your purpose? Well, the Bible holds the answer to your quest for a more fulfilling life, a life with purpose that God designed for you.
The Bible is the one source of reference that everyone can go to for a message of encouragement and reassurance. It's messages of hope are for every individual. The Bible is the best seller book and most quoted literature of all times because it is the sole manual that provides principles to be an over-comer in life.
Most Christians have never read the Bible, other than scripture verses, here and there, because they believe it is an impossible task, only reserved for preachers. Well, the benefits and privileges of the Gospel are for all Christians, in order to change the world. The only one who benefits by Christians not reading and understanding the Bible is the Devil. A Christian who has not read the Bible is unarmored to fight the battles of life, and be victorious. Ignore the Devil, who says "the Bible will require you to do things you don't want to do." On the contrary, the Bible will tell you of the advantages bequeathed to you by God's amazing grace through Jesus Christ. Some Christians, right now, would say, well why doesn't God just give me what is mine. Perhaps, He has, but you didn't know it was yours, so you let someone else have it. If you don't read the Bible, to find out what you are entitled to, you will miss out. And if you trust your minister to tell you, you don't understand the role of a minister. God wants relationships with each of His children, not just a few. It is your responsibly to find out what God has specifically for you. When you read the Bible, God will give you personal revelations for you and your life.
Deuteronomy, The laws
Leviticus, The laws
Psalms, Praise
Proverbs, Wisdom
Isaiah, Prophesy

- Learning tools. It is helpful to use any tools you can find to make your reading more enjoyable. If you purchase a modern translation, there is nothing wrong with also looking for supplemental material to help you break down The Bible. Also, make use of the reference sections in the back of the Bible. For an easy outline of God's principles to prosper, read "How to Hear God to Prosper."
- Read the New. Now that you have your preferred translation and supplements, you are ready to tackle the Bible. The Old Testament is difficult for the average person to read because it makes references that we are not familiar with today. It's also long, as it sets the stage for the New Testament. So, skip the Old Testament, and read the New Testament, which starts at the book of Matthew and concludes at the end of Revelation. Any modern day version of the New Testament can be read by a 6th grader, so don't be intimidated.
- Go back to the old. Once you have read the New Testament, then you will understand God's plan for mankind. At that point, you can read the Old Testament or certain books from the Old Testament, such as:
Deuteronomy, The laws
Leviticus, The laws
Psalms, Praise
Proverbs, Wisdom
Isaiah, Prophesy
