![]() We tolerate noises and even invite them into our lives, when we don’t realize how essential our peace is for our prosperity. Noise is all around us and often we create noise by turning up the volume on the television, the radio in the car or the headphones in our ears. And when our regular routine is not loud enough, we go to nightclubs and concerts that blast music so loud our hearing is put in jeopardy. Noise keeps us from hearing the Voice of God. God’s voice is gentle towards us and we must be still in order to hear Him. Noise is the greatest distraction from hearing God. There are businesses that make money producing noise to keep you from hearing God to prosper. Some people, particularly young generations, live 24-7 surrounded by noise. They even sleep with music or a television playing. That way of living keeps people from hearing God for protection and guidance, for a prosperous life. "Noise keeps us from hearing the Voice of God." We don’t have control over every noise we hear, but we can reduce or block out some noise. We can turn the volume down and we can speak lower, even whisper, when we are in public places. We can also change our everyday patterns, keeping family and friends, who are loud, at bay and including quiet activities in our schedules, such as taking walks in the park. When we noise-proof our environment, we reap the reward of hearing God's reassuring thoughts during trying times, hearing His warnings for protection, and hearing brilliant ideas from Him to prosper.
